Description:

Fashion design is a very rewarding career from creative stand point. Fashion designers create apparel and accessories for a company’s target customer.  Competition can be fierce. Fashion designers tend to work either as free lancers or full time for big retail brands.

A freelance fashion designer who owns a small boutique in medium-to-upscale part of the town.

DILO, Day In The Life of:

TIME TASK
8:00 am – 9:00 am Finalize a few sketches to show to a client, an event manager looking for concept designs for artists for an upcoming music festival in the town.
9:00 am – 10:00 am Over-see the sewing work for a school uniform order.
10:00 am – 10: 30 am Calls and emails with the clients and vendors regarding payments and invoices
10:30 am – 2: 00 pm Attend textile exhibition taking place in a neighborhood mail and make notes on new trends, designs, colors and fabrics. Take pictures and collect samples.
2:00 pm – 3:00 pm Meeting with the client for the music festival and go over the designs and finalize the design. Take the order.
3:00 pm – 4:00 pm Work with the webmaster on portfolio updates. This is a very important task for a fashion designer. To maintain an up to date and interesting portfolio.
4:00 pm – 9:00 pm Work at boutique. Oversee the retail sales and upcoming order taking process.
