3D Printing

What is this technology?:

3D printers make three dimensional objects by printing them layer by layer , aka additive manufacturing technique using a 3D design. As opposed to 2D printers, which are widely in use, which print text or graphics on a paper, 3D printers actually make physical objects like mugs, mechanical arms, small figures etc. Recent advances in 3D printing made it possible to shrink the size of the 3D printers to that of a desktop printer size and hence making their way for home use. At the same time, industrial use of 3D printers is growing due to the possibility of less waste, increased precision and the ability to mass customize. 3D printing is finding it’s use from healthcare to manufacturing to consumer goods.

You can 3D print a shoe or a cake or even an organ these days. 3D printing is expected to revolutionize the manufacturing industry in the next few years to come. This technology is growing at a rapid pace and new jobs and careers are created in 3D printing at a breath taking speed.
